AXIS Grafix: Plan of Attack
This plan will give an overview of our goals and strategies for the first
3 years of our companys starting point. The main focus will be on getting
the image and profile of the company before the public as well as developing
a strong reader following. We want to sell the image and story ideas of each
of the different series we will be introducing.
More than that, we want to promote the overall image of the company to the
public. We want our reader base (ages 7 through 40) to see exciting stories
with riveting art and quality production. We definitely want to push the cool
factor to our readers and let them know that these comics just cant be missed.
We also want to gain the trust of parents. We want to let them know these
products will not only excite and entertain their kids, but will also put
a Godly message of hope and faith into their hearts. We want the parents to
be eager to get their kids reading our comics as opposed to buying the latest
worldly, non-redeeming product that has been released.
We may venture beyond the goals weve set in these first 3 years. It is our
hope to eventually expand the base of our products to include many different
representations of our creative properties. We want to develop video games,
toys, board games, novels, and various other products.
If the occasions and opportunities arise in the first 3 years to step out
into any of those directions, we will. However, the main focus will be to
promote the stories and the comics. As we introduce one series, we want to
establish it and build a very strong and loyal reader base. We want to create
a buzz that sweeps across the country. At the same time, as one series is
being released and established we want to begin to promote the next series
and build the anticipation and excitement.
Most importantly, we want to see the ministry aspect of these books make a
significant impact on our readers. We want to see dramatic results in the
lives of our readers because of the message weve shared with them.
AXIS Grafix year 1
This first year, obviously will be a major image-building year. Our goal this
year is to focus on one title; our flagship series called D.E.D. Lev: 1. We
want to really get the message out that this is NOT your traditional Christian
comic book company. We want to target a little more mature audience, though
not excluding the younger readers.
Our plan is to create buzz through ads in Wizard magazine (the most popular
comics magazine on the market). We will place consecutive monthly ads to really
establish a presence in the comic book community. The ads will promote D.E.D.
Lev:1 as well as AXIS Grafix itself. We will have a major push to direct consumers
to our website. The website will be designed to be one of our greatest tools
in establishing image and relationship with the public.
The internet will also be a major platform for advertising and promotion.
The ad space on many web sites is less expensive than print ads and can directly
link people to our site. We plan to advertise as strongly and as diversely
as possible on the internet on sites that cater to young people, comic book
fans, video game players, Christian young people, Christian youth ministries
and ministers and to parents.
Beyond our advertising in magazines and the internet, we will also participate
in as many comic book conventions across the country as we are able. We will
try to be a part of the ones that will give us the most exposure to the comic
book community. This community can be a comic book companys best asset or
worst nightmare. The key to success is gaining their respect and trust. If
that community sees the quality in what you are producing, they will not only
embrace your product, but will advocate it in a very loud voice to the fringe
comic book consumers. This is crucial to establishing our cool factor.
We plan to reach the hard-core comic book community with a very real and genuine
approach. We want our booths to be sharp and professional, even if they cant
be as big and costly as the major companies. We also want to concentrate on
the basics of what makes people like comics: having great stories, incredible
art and quality production. We will hand out pamphlets and flyers, which will
direct them to our web site.
Lastly, we will travel to churches across the country and share the vision
with congregations, youth groups, and potential investors. We will share a
short presentation during the church service. After the service, we will have
our displays set up in the churchs fellowship hall or lobby. We will be there
to answer any questions, sell subscriptions, and distribute pamphlets and
literature, which will direct them to our web site. Our promotion for the first
book of D.E.D. Lev:1 will start 2 to 3 months prior to its release. Our plan
is to release D.E.D. Lev:1 Volume 1 Number 1 the day after Christmas 2002
or the last distributor shipping day of the year. We believe this will really
kick off 2003 with our first series. The books will be released every 7 weeks
and not on a set monthly schedule (like every 3rd week of the month or something
of that nature). In 2003 we will focus on the first 2 volumes of the D.E.D.
Lev:1 series. During that time, we also plan to start promoting our next tier
of books (Blood Alloy, Trilogy, Shadow-Light and Z.I.N.C.H.). We will do this
in our D.E.D. Lev:1 comics as well as the before mentioned media. We may also
release a preview comic which will include 4 short, 6 page teaser stories
of these 4 titles.
